About

2017 marked the beginning of a campaign to evolve the Ministry into an organization that internalized and embraced Quality Management. Through a partnership with the Belize Bureau of Standards, the Ministry began a two-year process to ready itself for Certification under the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) 9001:2015 Standard on Quality Management. Since then, the Ministry, its staff, its facilities have undertaken a physical and operational transformation that led to the achievement of certification in July 2019. This made the Ministry of Tourism the first Government Ministry to achieve this certification.
