The Belize Tourism Board is a statutory board responsible for licensing, revenue collection, marketing, destination planning, and quality assurance of the local tourism industries.


The BTB is a strategic partner in marketing the Belize Tourism Product, developing tourism initiatives and programs, and implementing tourism policies, to address the changing needs of visitors and stakeholders.


A progressive institution fostering responsible development of the tourism industry for the socio-economic growth of Belize through prudent, transparent and effective governance.

The fundamental functions of the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) are to provide support to the local and international tourism agencies, accommodations, tourism related businesses and general public. These functions are fulfilled by various strategic units which are led by the Tourism Director. These departments are as follows:

The BTB by creation plays an important role within the Belize tourism industry. Guided by the main principles for a sustainable projected path for Belize’s Tourism Industry, the BTB’s initiatives are unified and reflective of each of its core pillars so as to work towards an enhanced Belize experience.

It’s internal machinery and external affiliations are strategically designed to meet its organizational mandate. The Belize Tourism Board also collaborates closely with its sister agencies which include the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, National Institute of Culture & History (NICH) and Border Management Agency.
