The National Sustainable Tourism Master Plan for Belize was developed as part of the Sustainable Tourism Program. It was endorsed by the Cabinet in October 2012 and became the strategic guideline for tourism development in Belize up to 2030.
There are five key macro programs identified within the master plan:
The master plan divides the country into seven unique destinations that all together converge in a cohesive offering that make Belize a distinctive and highly competitive destination. The master plan also provides development strategies for each of the seven destinations.
The master plan also proposes a portfolio of products that Belize can offer.
